Hi. Welcome To Sunshine On A Shoestring
"Sunshine On A Shoestring" is the name of a book written by my mother-in-law, Mrs. Almena Springer, who is now  walking the streets of gold, in the presence of the Sonshine of God. She was the wife of a minister, Rev. Duane Springer, who has also left this world for a better place.
Mrs. Springer had no formal education, but had a gift for writing. She loved poetry, and has written some poems. She left behind some journels that are now invaluable, precious gifts for the family to enjoy. With the help of God and some good friends, she was able to write this wonderful little book about some of their ministry experiences, poems, diary notes, & practical suggestions to reach out  and touch those hurting around us.
Mrs. Springer was a native of Massachusetts, born and raised in Cape Cod. As a Nazarene pastor's wife, she and her husband ministered from New England to the Midwest. Six years were spent in Rockford, ILL., doing work in the inner city. The last years of their ministry  were spent in Bethany, Ok. involving Mrs. Springer baking many loaves of bread, and Rev. Springer delivering the loaves, calling on many people who needed to see a friendly face, and a prayer. The bread was a bonus! Many of the trips he made involved walking to & from. Many miles were traveled on foot by Rev. Springer.
Now, I would like to share with you some bits of "sunshine" from this wonderful little book.
